春天，不是季节，而是内心；生命，不是躯体，而是心性；老人，不是年龄，而是心境；人生，不是岁月，而是永恒。Spring is not about the season, but about the state of mind.Life is not about the body, but about the mind.Old age is not measured by years, but by the mind-set.Life is not about how long we live, but how we live it.

人生的旅途，不怕跑得慢，就怕原地站；人生的事业，不怕不如人，就怕志不立。In our life-long journey, we need not worry if we are slow; we just should not stay still.In our life-long career, we need not worry if we are not the best; we just should not be without ambition.

人的健康，主要在身心健全，而非勇武有力；人的长寿，主要指延续慧命，而非长命百岁。Good health refers mainly to the complete health of body and mind, not brute physical strength;Longevity refers mainly to the continuity of wisdom, not to the actual life span.

时间是人生真正的资产，学问是人生真正的财富，智慧是人生真正的力量，健康是人生真正的快乐。Time is a true asset, knowledge is true wealth.Wisdom is true strength, good health is true joy.

会善用时间，就是会处理生命；能掌握时间，就是能拥有人生。Knowing how to make good use of time, we will manage life.Knowing how to grasp time, we will embrace life.

要有道德的生活，才算有修行；要有价值的工作，才算有成就。Cultivation exists only with a moral life.Achievements exist only from worthy deeds.

爱惜自己的福报，就是珍惜自己的现在；广结人间的善缘，就是丰富自己的未来。To value our good fortune is to treasure our present.To establish extensive good affinity is to enrich our future.

珍惜生命者，感叹人生苦短；挥霍生命者，埋怨人生苦长；认识生命者，了悟人生苦多；主宰生命者，不惧人生苦空。One who cherishes life regrets that it is too short.One who wastes life complains that it is too long.One who understands life knows that it is suffering.One who masters life is not afraid of suffering and impermanence.

多说好话，常行好事，时时反省，常常欢喜。Say more good words; always do good deeds;Constantly introspect; always be happy.

愚痴来源是我执，学佛须先学无我；放下身心能无我，真理之光照心头。Ignorance and delusion originated from our grasping nature; so to cultivate the Dharma one should begin with cultivating “no ego”.Let go of the body and mind to achieve “no ego” and the light of the true principle will shine in your heart.

心胸宽大者能广，心田宽大者能有，心海宽大者能容，心量宽大者能空。A generous heart is extensive.A generous heart is rich.A generous heart is accommodating.A generous heart is magnanimous

气和心境好，心平无烦恼；性谦人缘好，克己乐逍遥。Harmonious emotion maintains a good mood.A calm heart keeps worries away.A humble character creates good affinity.Overcome self to be happy without worries.

凡事能随缘，才能自在；凡事能放下，才能宽心。In all matters, follow affinity to be at ease.In all matters, let go to feel relief.

若能受用佛法，才能解决事情；若能依止佛法，才能自在生活。Make good use the Buddha Dharma in order to solve problems.Follow the teaching of the Buddha Dharma to lead a carefree life.

为人处事，要能如「水」；遇山水转，遇岸水转，遇石水转；无论遇到谁，我转。Our conduct in life should be like the flow of water, when meeting a mountain water turns; when meeting the shore water turns; when meeting a stone water turns. In meeting obstacles, I turn.

随处给人欢喜，随时给人信心，随手给人服务，随缘给人方便。Give others happiness anywhere.Give others confidence anytime.Render your services to others readily.Provide convenience to others befittingly.

宁可持戒不圆满，不可破见失道心。We would rather observe the precepts little by little, than to totally lose sight of cultivation.

不愁物质的匮乏，但做心灵的富翁；不怕世间的贫苦，但做自在的主人。Be the wealthy owner of heart and soul and unworried about lack of material possessions.Be the master of a carefree life and unafraid of poverty and sickness.

笑能却病，喜能忘忧；慈能与乐，悲能拔苦。Laughter can prevent illness.Happiness can dispel worries.Loving kindness can bring joy.Compassion can alleviate suffering.

为自求进步，应该以「养气」代替「怨气」；为成就事业，应该以「和气」代替「意气」。For self-improvement, one should nurture spirit and energy in place of resentment.For successful undertakings, one should be calm and polite instead of being emotional.

进步要在心平气和中才能求得，人缘要在随喜服务中才能培养。Progress can only be achieved in calmness and harmony.Human affinity can only be fostered through service to others.

礼拜可以折服我慢，念佛可以降伏妄念，行善可以止息贪欲，包容可以对治嗔恨。Bowing to the Buddha can overcome arrogance.Chanting the Buddha’s name can subdue delusive thoughts.Doing kind deeds can cease greed.Tolerance can cure anger and hatred.

为人要像山一样崇高，处事要如水一般流畅。Our conduct should be upright and lofty like a mountain.Our handling of matters should be easy and smooth like flowing water.

改得一分习气，增加三分道念；忍得少分烦恼，便证十分菩提。To make a slight correction in a bad habit could greatly enhance your thoughts on cultivation.To endure some worries could lead to ascertain and experience the bodhi.

脾气要变成志气，意气要变成才气，怨气要变成和气，生气要变成争气。Change bad temperament into ambition,Change spiritedness into talent,Change resentment into amiability,Change anger into a fighting spirit.

苦难要受得了，受得了苦难才能堪受大任；气愤要忍得下，忍得下气愤才能共谋要事。Being able to endure suffering is being able to shoulder great responsibility.Being able to control anger is being able to plan important matters with others.

不听是非而听实话，不听恶言而听善语，不听杂话而听佛法，不听闲言而听真理。Do not listen to disputes instead ofhonest talk.Do not listen to malicious wordsinstead of kind expressions.Do not listen to miscellaneous wordsinstead of the Dharma.Do not listen to gossip instead of true principles.

真正的情，应该是体谅别人，委屈求全；真正的理，应该是讲求实务，顾全大局。True affection should show understanding and sympathy; compromise in the interest of all.True reason should strive for the truth of the matter; consider the interest of the whole.

情绪化的言论只是逞一时之快，必无好的结果；理智性的讲话是经过再三思虑，必能各方圆融。Words rashly spoken to flaunt a moment’s triumph cannot produce a good outcome.Reasonable words spoken after deliberation are definitely tactful and harmonious.

任难任之事，要有力而无气；处难处之人，要有知而无言；行难行之道，要有信而无惧；忍难忍之苦，要有容而无怨。To shoulder a difficult task, one should have strength and no anger.To deal with a difficult person, one should have skills and no complaints.To walk a difficult path, one should have faith and no fear.To endure the unbearable, one should have tolerance and no blame.

能忍一时之气，自能增长无限福德；能起一念之善，自能消弭无限罪业。To endure a moment’s anger increases limitless meritorious wealth.To have a virtuous thought eliminates limitless bad karma.

脾气慢半拍，吵嘴一回合，见面三句话，交谈要微笑。Slow your temper by half a beat and the argument will end after one round.Greet others with the three good phrases and always speak with a smile.

一念嗔心如火，烧尽累劫功德之林；一念人我是非，积聚善念付水漂流。An angry thought is like a wild fire, capable of burning away a whole forest of meritsaccumulated through many kalpas.A single thought of dispute between self and others is enough to wash away all amassed virtuous thoughts.

心中烦恼无明即地狱，心中菩提正见即天堂；心中忧悲苦恼即地狱，心中安乐幸福即天堂。A heart filled with worry and ignorance is hell.A heart filled with bodhi and true belief is heaven.A heart filled with anxiety and suffering is hell.A heart filled with peace and happiness is heaven.

多欲者，心常不满，不满，招灾也；知足者，欢喜常随，欢喜，纳祥也。The person with excessive desires is never contented, and that discontentment courts disaster.The person who is contented is always happy; and that happiness brings peace.

乐莫大于无忧，苦莫大于多欲，富莫大于知足，贫莫大于贪婪。Being without worry is the best form of happiness;Excessive desire is the greatest suffering;Contentment is the greatest wealth;Greed is the most extreme poverty.

心中有欢喜的人，到处是赏心悦目的景色；心中有佛法的人，面对是善人善缘的世界。When happiness is in the heart, everywhere looks pleasing to both the eye and the mind.When Buddha Dharma is in the heart, the world is full of virtuous people and good affinities.

入世的生活，是以拥有为快乐，拥有是包袱、是拖累；出世的生活，是以空无为快乐，空无是无边、是无限。The worldly life deems possession to be happiness; possession is a baggage and a burden.Beyond the worldly life one sees emptiness as happiness; emptiness is boundless and limitless.

知足如点金石，可使接触的东西变黄金——幸福；感恩如仙女棒，可使所处的境界变净土——快乐。Contentment is like a magic stone; everything it touches changes to gold – happiness.Gratitude is like a fairy’s wand; everywhere it touches changes into the Pure Land – happiness.

以语言三昧给人欢喜，以文字般若给人智慧，以利行无畏给人依靠，以同事摄受给人信心。Give others joy with kind words.Enlighten others with words of wisdom.Provide refuge with service and encouragement.Give others confidence through working together.

修桥铺路、开发土地，建设中有无限的希望；选贤与能、整顿吏治，革新中有无限的希望。Build bridges, roads and develop land. Construction embodies endless hope and expectation.Choose wise, capable leaders and restructure the administration. Revolutionary change embodies endless hope and expectation.

儿童是家庭未来的希望，少年是国家未来的主人，青年是人间未来的栋梁，老年是社会未来的典范。Children are the hope of the family.Teenagers are the future leaders of the country.The youths are the future pillars of the world,The elders are the role models for the society.

超脱荣辱毁誉，就是解脱；看淡成败得失，就能放下。The ability to detach from honour andhumiliation, slander and praise is liberation;The ability to treat success and failure, gains and losses as unimportant is letting go.

在春天里，红花绿叶，显得相得益彰；在夜空中，星月交辉，更觉宇宙浩瀚；只要懂得包容、协调，就会发现「一半一半」的世界真美好。In the spring time, red flowers and green leaves each look more radiant with the existence of the other.At night, the moon and stars shining upon each other illustrates the vastness of the universe.As long as we know to tolerate and coordinate, we will realize the world of “half and half” is wonderful.

眼睛不要只看别人，要反观自己；嘴巴不要只说别人，要检讨自己。One’s eyes should be used to reflecting oneself instead of judging others.One’s mouth should be used to reviewing oneself instead of criticizing others.

看人家的错失，是结怨之源；看自己的不是，是众善之本。Looking at the faults of others is the cause of forming enmity.Looking at the faults of oneself is the foundation of all virtues.

有人无己，乃菩萨发心；先人后己，是圣贤行谊；有己有人，不失为君子；有己无人，十足小人也。Acting in the interests of others without self-interest is the conduct of a bodhisattva;Acting in the interests of others before one’s self interest is the act of a sage;Acting in both the interests of others and oneself is the act of a virtuous person;Acting in self-interest only is the act of a villain.

宁可认错，莫要说谎；宁可被怪，莫要负疚；宁可吃亏，莫要结怨；宁可无用，莫要祸世。Better to admit a mistake than to lie;Better to be blamed than to bear guilt.Better to be at disadvantage than to invite enmity;Better to be useless than to bring harm to the world.

人，要从愚痴迷梦中觉醒，才能认识生命的真谛；人，要从向外贪求中回头，才能找到内心的宝藏。Humans have to wake up from their ignorance in order to understand the truth of life.Humans have to refrain from their external cravings in order to seek treasures of the inner mind.

爱惜口中的语言，用慈悲的爱语化导暴戾气氛，能使社会趋于平和；爱惜心灵的语言，用智慧的心语消除贪嗔愚痴，使心灵常保明净。Cherish the words from your mouth. Use compassionate and loving words to calm down tense and violent situations in order to foster peaceful living in society.Cherish the words from your heart. Use wise and heartfelt words to eliminate greed, anger, ignorance and delusion in order to maintain spiritual purity and brightness.

人我相助，处处天堂；邻里相敬，处处净土。天堂在我家中，净土在我心中。Heaven exists wherever we help one another.The Pure Land exists wherever neighbours have mutual respect for each other.Thus, heaven exists at one’s home, and the Pure Land exists in one’s heart.

一切事业的成功，端赖人和的沟通；沟通人和的要点，必须彼此的互重。The key to a successful career is harmonious communication.The key to harmonious communication is mutual respect.

国家的政治能够廉洁清明，就没有贪污贿赂；世界的族群能够包容异己，就没有种族纷争。When a country’s politics are clean and transparent, there will be no bribery and corruption.When all races in the world can accommodate each other, there will be no ethnic disputes.

人有享不到的福，没有受不了的苦；人要做正人君子，不要做消极好人。There is happiness that humans are not able to enjoy, but there is no suffering that humans cannot endure.We should be a person of moral integrity but not a pessimistic good person.

平等应视人如己，立场互易；平等应泯除成见，消灭对待；平等应尊重包容，促进和谐；平等应建立共识，宣导文明。Practise equality by treating others as ourselves and acting in their interests;Practise equality by eliminating discrimination and biased thinking;Practise equality by respecting and tolerating others to foster harmony;Practise equality by developing consensus and civilised behaviour.

有公德心，才算有修养；有辨别力，才算有学问。We are considered cultured if we have a civil mind.We are considered knowledgeable if we have the ability to discern.

人人做警员，伸张公理，提倡正义；人人做义工，守望相助，相互扶持；人人做善人，服务奉献，劝人为善；人人做良民，奉公守法，尽忠职守。Be a policeman: Promote righteousness and justice.Be a volunteer: Help and support one another.Be a good person: Serve others and persuade them to do good.Be a good citizen: Obey the law and fulfil responsibilities.

政治，是怒目金刚，要人人守法；佛教，是慈眼菩萨，要人人自律。The government has the furious stare of a warrior wanting people to obey laws;Buddhism has the kind look of a Bodhisattva wanting people to be self-disciplined.

所谓「争气」，并不是争一时傲气，而是争千秋正气；所谓「求利」，并不是求一己私利，而是求众生福利。Fight for a lasting impact that personifies righteousness instead of a short glorified impact.Seek for the welfare and benefit of all beings instead of just personal benefit.

不说人非是厚道，不辩己非是高见，扬人善事是报恩，隐人过恶是修德。Not talking about other’s misdeeds is being ethical.Not defending one’s own misdeeds is being wise.Spreading others’ good deeds is being grateful.Not disclosing others’ bad deeds is practising good morals.

正见的希望，成就正见的人格；广大的愿力，成就广大的事业。The hope of right view is for achieving humanity.The power of great vows is for achieving great careers.

只要有愿心，世界无远近；只要肯发心，人间无苦乐。As long as there are wishful thoughts, then there is no distance on this earth.As long as there are aspiring thoughts, sadness or happiness will be impartial in this world.

每一件事都是要依靠众多的因缘才能成就，每一个人都是要仰赖无限的生命才能成长。In success, all things depend on many causes and conditions;In order to grow and develop, all people depend on an infinite number of lives.

具有同体的平等观，才能同心同德；具有共生的慈悲观，才能共存共荣；同体与共生，不但是宇宙的真理，也是人类幸福的准则。One can only share similar thinking and moral values by having the common ideals of equality.One can only co-exist with honour by having similar compassionate ideals.That we co-exist within a single entity is not only the Universal Truth, but also the yardstick for measuring the sanctity of human beings.

管理的秘诀，要公开、公正，更要公平；处世的诀窍，要知人、知情、更要知理。The secret to managing is to be transparent, just, and above all, fair;The best way to handle challenging situations is to understand others along with their emotions and reasoning.

真正的忍耐，是当仁不让、顾全大局、为众谋福；真正的修行，是自我健全、牺牲奉献、服务社会。Real patience is about offering oneself without hesitation; safeguarding the overall situation while working for the welfare of all.Real cultivation is aiming for self-perfection; willingly sacrificing oneself while offering service to society.

政治，是管理大众、维护社会的理念；佛教，是教化众生、净化社会的力量。Political governing is the idea that manages the public and safeguards the society.Buddhism is the strength that educates sentient beings and purifies the society.

有佛法的地方就有慈悲，有佛法的地方就有般若；有佛法的地方就有信仰，有佛法的地方就有办法。Where there is Dharma, there is compassion.Where there is Dharma, there is Prajñā (wisdom).Where there is Dharma, there is faith.Where there is Dharma, there is a way.

高山不辞土壤，故能成其高；大海不择细流，故能成其大。天地无私，故能覆载万物；真如无相，故能遍一切处。A mountain is high because it does not reject soil; an ocean is vast because it accommodates all rivers.Heaven and earth are selfless as they contain everything; Buddha nature is formless, hence it manifests everywhere.

力田不如逢春；善仕不如遇缘；巧辩不如诚实；考官不如选佛。To work on the field, we have to wait till spring.Besides being a qualified worker, we also have to wait for opportunities.Eloquent debate cannot compare to honesty.A career path cannot compare to the Buddha path.

夜航的船只，因灯塔的照亮而认清方向；陋巷的行人，因标志的指示而知道前途。Ships sail at night are guided by the light house.Pedestrians in an alley are guided by clear signboards on the roads.

世间最大的财富不是黄金、钻石，应是信仰、道德；世间最大的财富不是房屋、土地，应是真心、佛性。The greatest wealth in the world is not gold or diamonds, but religious faith and virtue.The greatest wealth in the world is not houses or land, but our true mind and Buddha nature.

智慧可以传授人生，经验可以提携后学；修行可以开发生命，信仰可以找回本心。Pass on life education with wisdom.Guide the young generation with our experience.Develop the depth of life with cultivation.Attain our true mind through faith.

要劝化别人，首须端正自己，此乃「身教胜于言教」；要辩解讥毁，先要健全自己，所谓「事实胜于雄辩」。To advise others, we must act on what we preach as actions speak louder than words.To overcome ridicule, we must conduct ourselves righteously as facts are louder than debate.

用智慧来传授人生，用经验来提携后学，用修行来开发生命，用培德来探索未来。Pass on life education with wisdom.Guide juniors with experience.Develop life with cultivation.Analyse the future with virtue.

人我相处之道，靠生活教育来训练；自我提升之道，靠思想教育来启发。Interpersonal relationships can be trained in daily life education.Self-improvement is inspired by ideological education.

生活的教育重于知识的教育，道德的教育重于功利的教育，普及的教育重于特权的教育，自觉的教育重于接受的教育。Life education is more important than the education of knowledge.The education of morality is more important than the education of utilitarianism.Common education is more important than privileged education.The education towards self-realization is more important than receiving teachings.

说话如同射箭，出去了就收不回，因此要谨口慎言；烦恼如同野草，生了根就烧不尽，因此要防心离过。Speaking is like shooting an arrow. It cannot be retrieved once released. Hence, be careful with your speech.Worries are like the wild grass. Once it is deeply rooted, it will never wither even when burnt. Hence, guard your mind to be freed from defilements.

教育的课程在启发心智，教育的要诀在观机逗教，教育的基础在生活习惯，教育的目的在完成人格。The curriculum of education aims at developing mentality.The essence of education rests in adopting different approaches to cater to different kinds of individuals.The foundation of education lies in daily practice.The aim of education is to achieve a wholesome character.

一等父母：爱念子女，教以圣贤之道；二等父母：供给无乏，说明成家立业；三等父母：溺爱宠信，任其游荡非为；劣等父母：不教不养，经常凌虐施暴。It is best when parents teach morality to their children and urge them to conduct themselves wisely, thus emulating the role model of the saints and sages.The second best situation is when parents provide enough for their children and teach them to build a career and family.The third kind of situation is when parents allow their children to do as they wish and spoil them.The worst parents neglect their children’s upbringing and education and always abuse them.

知识与品德并重，慈爱与威严并重，师教与自教并重，静态与动态并重。Knowledge and ethics should be equally emphasized.Loving kindness and stateliness should be equally emphasized.Learning from teachers and from oneself is equally important.Being calm and being dynamic are equally important.

平等和平奠定在人人皆大欢喜，皆大欢喜落实于事事协调沟通。Equality and peace are established when everyone is happy.Great communication and coordination are essentials of this happiness.

一等婆媳：如母女般的亲密；二等婆媳：如朋友般的尊重；三等婆媳：如君臣般的严肃；劣等婆媳：如冤家般的相聚。The best relationship between a mother and daughter-in-law is as intimate as mother and daughter.The second best relationship between a mother and daughter-in-law is as the mutual respect of friends.The third best relationship between a mother and daughter-in-law is as solemn as one between a monarch and minister.The worst relationship between a mother and daughter-in-law is like the meeting of foes.

用宽容的钥匙，打开褊狭的心扉，用智慧的宝剑，斩断烦恼的情执，用爱心的药石，修补创伤的痛楚，用欢喜的法水，滋润烦忧的人生。Use the key of magnanimity to open the cramped and narrow mind.Use the sword of wisdom to cut through the afflictions of attachment.Use the medicine of loving kindness to soothe the pain of suffering.Use the Dharma nectar of happiness to moisten the worrying life.

面孔美丽的人，生活未必充满快乐；心灵纯洁的人，生活才能充满喜悦。A person with a beautiful face may not find happiness in life;A person with a pure mind will find joy and happiness in life.

相见以诚以真，相待以礼以敬，相处以平以淡，相勉以学以道。Greet each other with sincerity and genuineness.Treat each other with respect and courtesy.Get along with each other in peace and tranquillity.Encourage each other with self-knowledge and Dharma.

儿女有慈母的教育，这是人生最幸福的事情；丈夫有贤妻的扶持，这是世间最美满的境界。The greatest happiness in life for children is to be taught by their mother.The greatest happiness in life for a husband is to have his wife’s support.

用理智净化感情，用慈悲运作感情，用礼法规范感情，用道德引导感情。Purify sentiment with rationality. Operate sentiment with compassion.Regulate sentiment with etiquette. Guide sentiment with ethics.

以爱才能赢得爱，以恨不能赢得爱；以敬才能赢得敬，以嗔不能赢得敬。Only love itself can gain love in return. Hatred cannot gain love.Only respect itself will gain respect in return. Anger cannot gain respect.

孝亲不辞劳苦，自为儿孙好榜样；行善不望回报，必为儿孙积善福。Sparing no effort to serve our parents is a good model for the young generation.Doing good without expecting any returns will reap good karmic results for our young generation.

功名富贵转眼空，唯立功、立德才是真受用；世间三界皆火宅，唯安身、安心才是好净土。Fame and fortune can vanish instantly. Meritorious deeds and the cultivation of virtue are long lasting.The Three Realms are like a burning house; only by settling our body and mind can we find the Pure Land.

向尊长谦恭是本份，向平辈谦虚是和善，向小辈谦虚是高尚，向人生谦虚是安全。Modesty towards the elders is our duty. Modesty towards peers is being good natured.Modesty towards juniors is noble. Modesty towards strangers is security.

宽宏大量是个宝，与人无争结缘好，放下名利不烦恼，心生欢喜不觉老。Magnanimity is a great treasure.A harmonious relationship is wonderful.Detachment from fame and gain averts affliction.Joy at heart keeps us young.

少年的时候，要修理自己；青年的时候，要正视自己；壮年的时候，要扩大自己；老年的时候，要圆满自己。In childhood, we should correct ourselves frequently.In youth, we should face ourselves seriously.In adulthood, we should expand ourselves widely.In old-age, we should perfect ourselves completely.

孝顺父母不要等百年，在世时就要孝顺；教育儿女不要等成年，幼年时就要开始。Show filial piety to parents while they are still alive.Start educating your children when they are young.

公婆的微笑，是子孙的太阳；儿女的音声，是父母的音乐；妻子的爱语，是丈夫的和风；丈夫的臂膀，是全家的依靠。Grandparents’ smiles are like sunshine to the grandchildren.Children’s voices are like music to the parents.A wife’s loving words are like a warm breeze to the husband.A husband’s arms are refuge for the whole family.

毋争利而伤兄弟手足之天伦，毋自私而断亲朋挚友之情谊，毋贪吝而弃天道圣贤之仁慈，毋暴戾而坏国家社会之祥和。Do not fight your siblings over material gain.Do not hurt friends and family ties for selfish desire.Do not forsake kindness and compassion out of greed and stinginess.Do not damage the harmony of society and country by violent acts.

一日之计在于晨，一生之计在于勤，一事之计在于明，一家之计在于和。Morning is the best start of the day.Diligence is the best exercise in a lifetime.A clear mind is the best tool to do things.Harmony is the best principle for a happy family.

勤则家兴，懒则家倾，俭则家富，奢则家贫。Diligence makes a family prosperous.Laziness makes a family weak.Thrift makes a family wealthy.Being a spendthrift makes a family poor.

鱼以海洋为家，鸟以山林为家，人以屋舍为家，道以空无为家。The abode of fishes is the sea.The abode of birds is the forest.The abode of people is their home.The abode of Buddha’s path is the realization of the nature of emptiness.

河以蜿蜒能远，故源远流长；山以重垒能高，故嶙峋峻拔；心以涵蕴能容，故心包太虚；气以进出能平，故四通八达。Rivers are as long as they twist, which is why rivers flow from a far.Mountains thrust up for height, which is why mountains are grand and stately.The mind is tolerant due to restraint, which is why the mind can encompass the universe.Breath is balance where there is incoming and outgoing, which is why it extends in all directions.

真正的力量是忍耐，真正的智慧是宽厚，真正的慈悲是包容，真正的财富是知足。忍耐、宽厚、包容、知足，人生之四宝也。Patience is real power.Generosity is true wisdom.Tolerance is true compassion.Contentment is real wealth.Patience, generosity, tolerance and contentment are the four treasures of life.

不一定靠化妆来修饰容貌，要用道德来庄严身心；不一定借名位来提高身份，要以慈悲来充实内涵。Beautify our body and mind with morality; not necessarily through make-up and appearance.Enrich ourselves with compassion; not necessarily through fame and position to elevate status.

有己无人，是十足小人；先己后人，是凡夫俗子；先人后己，是正人君子；有人无己，是大乘菩萨。Acting in self-interest only is the act of a villain.Acting in the interests of self-first before others is the act of a mundane person.Acting in the interests of others first before oneself is the act of a virtuous person.Acting in the interests of others without self-interest is the conduct of a Bodhisattva.

能够「以退为进」则是不争，懂得「以无为有」则是富足，欢喜「以众为我」则是拥有，时刻「以空为乐」则是法喜。To be able to retreat as another steps forward reflects allowing.One gains inner riches if one knows how to base shunyata as the foundation of existence.One makes a life complete if one knows how to serve others as if serving oneself.One achieves Dharma happiness if one knows how to treat emptiness as enjoyment.

大丈夫不为一己之身谋，当为天下苍生忧；小乘人只为一己之身计，不为世间众生想。A noble person plans not only for herself but also for all beings.It is vital to achieve enlightenment for self and others.

能够乐善好施，必非贪财之辈；能够视死如归，必非无耻之徒；能够淡泊名利，必非好名之人；能够扬亲显荣，必非不肖之子。Generous people are not greedy.People who sacrifice their lives are not scoundrels.People detached from worldly desires do not wrestle for fame.People who strive to bring honour to their parents are not unworthy.

有接受别人批评的雅量，才能为学做人；有改正自己错误的勇气，才能立功立业。Asserting tolerance of criticism from other people is the way to behave with integrity.Having courage to correct one’s own mistakes is the way to accomplish goals.

幽兰藏于深谷，珍珠藏于海底，宝玉藏于琢磨，钢铁藏于锤炼，大器藏于晚成，显达藏于谦卑，圣贤藏于陋巷，大智藏于大愚。Orchids are hidden deep in the valley.Pearls are submerged in the bottom of the sea.Precious jade is shaped after carving and polishing.Iron and steel are cast after smelting and hammering.Great talents arise in maturity.Illustrious and influential talents emerge from humility.Sages and men of virtue could be hidden in mean alleys.Great wisdom could be masked as a fool.

我们无法停止时间轨道的转动，但要从中觉悟无常的真谛；我们无法追逐日升月落的脚步，但要从中认清生命的价值。We can’t stop time but we can realize the truth of impermanence from it.We can’t chase after time but we can see clearly the value of life from it.

不吃过头的饭，不讲过头的话，不走过头的路，不做过头的事。本分，照顾当下；过头，失去未来。Refrain from overeating, refrain from excessive speech.Refrain from overreaching; refrain from over performing.Our duty is to take care of the present.Overdoing will cause us to miss out in the future.

船行的路是海洋，明灯的路是夜晚；人行的路是善事，成道的路是悲智。The path of ships is the ocean.The path of light is the night.The path to good behaviour is charitable deeds.The path to enlightenment is compassion and wisdom.

树木不经日晒雨淋长不高，人格未经干锤百炼不健全。A tree cannot grow to a great height if not exposed to the sun and rain.A person’s character is incomplete if not tempered repeatedly.

不墨守成规，不故步自封，才能在变化中求进步；不短视近利，不好大喜功，才能在守成中求成长。Go beyond conventions.Avoid being complacent and conservative so that you may transform and progress.Exercise foresight.Avoid being over ambitious so that you may maintain the earlier achievements and continue to grow.

能够克服困难，便能获得良机；能够解决困难，便能化解危机；能够面对困难，便能寻求转机；能够不怕困难，便能把握时机。The ability to overcome problems will gain opportunities.The ability to solve problems will dissolve crises.The ability to face problems will seek auspiciousness.The ability to not be afraid of problems will seize chances.

「敢」是勇气，则表示有智慧；「敢」是发心，则表示能担当。If daring is courage, then it has wisdom.If daring is aspiration, then it can undertake anything.

意志坚定，才能不为环境左右；目标远大，才能担负度众事业。With a strong will, one will not be influenced by one’s environment.With aspiring objectives, one will be able to undertake a career of cultivation.

成功的里面，包含了多少辛酸；名人的双肩，承受了多少压力；荣耀的背后，付出了多少代价；伟大的成就，奉献了多少牺牲。One has to endure much bitterness to be successful.Celebrities endure much pressure with fame.There is a price to pay for each glory.Great achievement requires much sacrifice.

能吃亏可以获得大便宜，能受苦可以获得大安乐，能和气可以获得大力量，能散财可以获得大聚集。One who can accept disadvantage may in return reap a big advantage.One who can undertake suffering may gain immense peace and happiness.One who is amiable will acquire tremendous strength.One who shares wealth may earn a great gathering.

只问耕耘不问收获，只慰他苦不求我乐，只想付出不求回报，只愿成就不计辛苦。One seeks cultivation but not harvest;One comforts others’ sufferings but does not seek pleasure for oneself.One thinks only of giving but not repayment;One wishes for achievement without fussing about hardship.

懂得反省的人，常常心存感恩；懂得感恩的人，时时惜福惜缘。One who knows to introspect is always grateful.One who is grateful always treasures happiness and cherishes affinity.

「耐烦」是一种艺术，「有恒」是一种希望。耐烦有恒，做事才能成就；耐烦有恒，做人才能通达。Patience is an art; persistence is a form of hope.Patience and persistence lead to success in handling affairs;Patience and persistence help one to be proficient in conducting oneself.

要常想自己如何为别人创造因缘，不要想别人给了我们多少的好处。We must constantly seek ways to create causes and conditions for others, but never to think how many benefits others have given us.

与人交，要有情有义；为人谋，要有忠有信。In our association with others, we must show affection and righteousness.When we are doing things for others, we must be loyal and trustworthy.

要作正直的君子，敢言、敢为；不做消极的好人，糊涂、昏庸。Be an upright person who dares to speak and act.Do not be a passive good person who is muddled and confused.

心中要有根，才能开花结果；心中要有愿，才能成就事业；心中要有理，才能走遍天下；心中要有主，才能立处皆真。There must be roots in our mind in order to bring about fruition.There must be vows in our mind in order to succeed in a career.There must be reason in our mind in order to travel around the world.There must be a master in our mind in order to live truthfully.

修行的目标，以「无心」为最高境界；办事的原则，以「用心」为成功基石。In the goal of cultivation, no-mind is the highest state;In principles of handling affairs, being attentive is the foundation of success.

有承担，才有进步；肯付出，才有收获。Only by shouldering responsibility will there be improvement.Only through willingness to contribute will there be achievements.

人有一分学养，便有一分气质；人多一分器量，便多一分人缘。One with a measure of cultivation will have a measure of a refined disposition.The more tolerance one has, the more affinity one will have with others.

做人要知四大皆空，处事要明五蕴非有，学佛要用不二法门，心境要如华藏世界。As a person, one should know the four elements are essentially that of emptiness.In dealing with matters, one should understand the five aggregates are non-existent.In cultivation, one should practise the Dharma door of non-duality.One’s state of mind should be vast and carefree like the Pure Land of all Buddhas.

一个有用的人，即使是小事，也能做得轰轰烈烈；一个无用的人，大事交给他，最终必然偃旗息鼓。A capable man can create a great outcome out of even a small task.An incapable man will waste a big task, turning it into dust.

身为领导者，决策时要能够从善如流，执行时要能够择善固执；身为属下者，献策时要能够知无不言，办事时要能够服从领导。Being a leader, one must listen to good advice when making decisions and adhere to the right path when implementing them.Being a subordinate, one must be honest and open when proposing plans and follow the order of the leader when executing them.

真正的名誉，不在于时人的赞美，而在于能为后人所效法；真正的拥有，不在于一己的独占，而在于能为大家所分享。True reputation is not about something that is praised by contemporaries, but about something to be followed by future generations.True possession is not about something that is owned by oneself, but something that can be shared with others.

受人称誉要能不自满；被他欺侮要能不怨尤；遭逢失败要能不气馁；处事成功要能不骄恣。Don’t be self-conceited when being praised.Don’t be resentful when being bullied.Don’t be discouraged when encountering failure.Don’t be arrogant when being successful.

苦事多从自己做起，乐事多为别人着想，坏事多由自己承担，好事多给别人称赞。Let us pick the difficult tasks for ourselves and leave pleasant things first to others.Let us be accountable for wrongdoings ourselves and be generous in praising others.

能够接受教诲，「勇于认错」的人，大都进步得快；觉得自己有理，「死不认错」的人，往往原地踏步。Those who are able to accept admonition and admit their faults courageously will advance.Those who think themselves to be reasonable and never admit their faults will lag far behind.

有志者，自有千方百计；无志者，只有千难万险。A determined person will always find ways and methods to success.An escapist will see only difficulties and obstacles.

知足，是解脱欲望的妙方；感恩，是拥有财富的法门Contentment is a recipe for liberation from desires.Gratitude is the gateway to obtaining wealth.

不懂反省的人，永远看不到自己的缺点；不肯奋发的人，永远用不到自己的长处。People who do not practice self-reflection will never see their weaknesses.People who do not strive forward will never spread their strengths.

伟大的人以成就他人完成自己；卑劣的人以残害他人成就自己。Great people fulfil themselves by helping others to accomplish.Mean people fulfil themselves by holding others back.

了解别人是体谅之道，宽容别人是和睦之道，接纳别人是群我之道，关怀别人是友爱之道。Comprehending other people is the way to show understanding.Forgiving other people is the way to show harmony.Accepting other people is the way to show solidarity.Caring for other people is the way to show friendliness.

批评不必怕，阿谀才可畏；失败不必怕，无知才可惧。Be afraid of flattering not criticism.Be afraid of ignorance not failure.

有的人值得被人利用，故能成才；有的人堪受被人利用，故能成器；有的人不能被人利用，故难成功；有的人拒绝被人利用，故难成就。Those who are worthy to be of use to others are worth something.Those who are willing to be of use to others will be someone.Those who are unable to be of use to others will not be successful.Those who refuse to be of use to others will have no achievement.

用人时要懂得人的长处，教人时要知道人的缺点。Know a person’s strength when you employ him.Know a person’s weakness when you teach him.

做事要有计划，用钱要有预算，修学要有目标，未来要有希望。Have a plan before you act.Have a budget before you spend money.Set a goal before you practice.Have a hope for the future.

困难里或有许多生机，劳苦中必具无限成就。故遇难不必逃避，逢苦应当面对。There may be many opportunities in difficult times.There will be limitless achievements in hard work.Therefore, we should not escape from difficulties and hardships but face them instead.

年年不忘春耕，自然能够秋收；时时不离助人，自然能得人助；念念不起恶心，自然没有业果；处处不搅人我，自然没有是非。Planting in spring every year will certainly lead to an autumn harvest.Always lending a helping hand will in return receive help.Abstaining from unwholesome thoughts will certainly not bring unwholesome retribution.Abstaining from interfering in others’ affairs will certainly not bring trouble.

安排自己能获得快乐，充实自己能获得知识，掌握自己能获得平安，创造自己能获得成功。Good time management brings happiness.Self-enrichment brings knowledge.Self-reliance and self-discipline bring peace and security.Self-motivation brings success.

应以道理说服他人，应以宁静克制妄动，应以诚恳感化世间，应以慈悲折服敌对。Convince others with reasoning.Restrain reckless acts with calmness.Influence the world with sincerity.Subdue the enemy with kindness and compassion.

人生如行船，无论何时何地，都要张满信心的风帆；人生如战场，无论是安是危，都要鼓舞奋发的斗志。Life is like a sailing boat, we should sail on with confidence regardless of place and time.Life is like a battle field, we should march on with courage regardless of safety or danger.

与其坐待因缘行事，不如创造因缘机会。It is better to create opportunity for good causes and conditionsthan to idle away waiting for them to occur.

药无好歹，愈病者良；法无胜劣，相应者胜。Medicine is neither good nor bad; it is good as long as it cures an illness.Dharma is neither good nor bad; it is good as long as it guides us to the right path.

团结必能和谐，和谐必须团结；分工必须合作，合作要能分工。Unity brings harmony, and vice versa.Sharing the workload requires cooperation, and vice versa.

在学习的过程中，凡事接受，日久之后必能成就大器；在研讨的阶段中，集思广益，实行之时必能圆满周到。Being receptive to everything when studying, one will become a great person in the future.Being open to suggestions when researching, one will be more thoughtful when implementing.

说话前应先考虑，自己做得到吗？做事前应先想想，对别人有利吗？Think twice before speaking; can you keep your word?Think twice before acting; is it beneficial to others?

利益回馈大众，荣誉分享大家，办事集体创作，做人你我一家。Share benefits to repay society; share glory with everyone.Handle affairs with teamwork; deal with people like one big family.

能包容一个家，就能成为一家之长；能包容一个国，就能成为一国之王；能够心包太虚，就能成为法界之主；人的心量有多大，世界就有多大。Accepting a family unconditionally leads to leadership of the family.Accepting a country unconditionally leads to kingship of the country.Accepting the universe unconditionally leads to lordship of the world.The size of your world is dependent on the openness of your mind.

以众人之心志为心志，则能通众人之愿望；以众人之耳目为耳目，则能尽众人之情理。To know people’s wishes is to accept the public’s ambition as our own.To do the best for relationships among people is to observe what the public sees and hears.

作家在稿纸上耕耘，农夫在土地上耕耘，教师在黑板上耕耘，禅者在心地上耕耘。A writer cultivates on paper.A farmer cultivates the land.A teacher cultivates on the blackboard.A meditation practitioner cultivates the mind.

只要耐烦有恒，时间的浪潮会将「小」人物推向时代的前端；只要脚踏实地，历史的巨手会将「小」因缘聚合成丰功伟业。The waves of time will push a common man to the top of the era if he is patient and persistent.The hand of history will put all the small causes and conditions together and turn them into a great achievement if one works diligently.

一时的忍让，能换来长久的安乐；一时的委屈，能换来最后的成功。Momentary forbearance brings permanent happiness.Momentary grievance brings ultimate success.

珍惜福报才会更有福报；珍惜因缘才会更具因缘。Cherishing merits lead to more merits.Cherishing good conditions lead to better conditions.

一切快乐，没有比祥和更为快乐；一切享受，没有比宁静更为享受。Calmness and peace are the happiest things.Quietness is the most enjoyable thing.

能纳善，才能知过改过；能施舍，才能惜福惜缘。纳善，君子也；施舍，善人也。Accepting good advice can correct mistakes.The charitable donors can cherish everything.A gentleman accepts advice, a kind person gives charity.

不因穷困或富有而改变态度，不因礼遇或违逆而改变尊敬，不因成功或挫败而改变信念。Let attitude remain unchanged in poverty or wealth.Let honour remain unchanged in politeness or rudeness.Let faith remain unchanged in success or failure.

肯布施一点欢喜给别人，才是与佛心相应的人；肯布施一点善缘给别人，才是与法道相通的人。Willing to give happiness to others,You are close to the Buddha’s heart.Willing to give good conditions to others, you have assimilated the Buddhist teachings.

凡事缘聚而成，凡事缘散而灭。有了因缘，事事顺遂；因缘不合，处处失利。Things happen when all the conditions are ready. Things end when all the conditions cease.When all the conditions are ready, everything goes smoothly. When all the conditions are not ready, everything fails.

金钱会流失，真如不流失，名位有上下，佛性无上下。We can lose the money, but we will not lose our Buddha Nature.There’s a ranking order in position, but there’s no ranking order in our Buddha Nature.

虽是天才，若常说：「等明日再说吧！」，则与庸人无异；虽很能干，若常说：「让别人来做吧！」，则与无能无异。If you are a genius but always say “wait till tomorrow!” then you are no different from a normal person.If you are capable but always say “let someone else do it!” then you are no different from an incompetent person.

有真心、有热心，一定可以赢得人心；有正念、有道念，一定可以击败邪念。With sincerity and passion, we can earn people’s loyalty.With a right and religious thought, we can overcome evil thoughts.

世间最好的东西，是欢喜；世间最贵的善举，是结缘；世间最大的力量，是忍耐；世间最强的愿力，是甘愿。The best thing in the world is happiness.The kindest act in the world is to form ties of good causes and conditions.The strongest power in the world is endurance.The most powerful determination in the world is willingness to do things wholeheartedly.

对世间要有感恩的美德，对生活要有勤俭的习惯，对物质要有知足的修养，对他人要有喜舍的布施。Be grateful to everything in the world. Be hard-working and live a simple life.Be satisfied with our material things. Be happy when giving charity.

物品坏了可以修复，情义损坏难以弥补，所以我们要惜情；钱财丢了可以赚回，时光一去无法倒流，所以我们要惜时。We can repair broken things but we cannot fix a broken friendship. So we must cherish and treasure friendship.We can always earn back the money that we have lost, but we cannot turn back the time. So we must cherish and treasure time.

做人要能被利用，才是有用之人；物品要能被实用，才是贵重之物。A useful person is the one who gives benefit to others.A precious thing is something that gives value to our daily life and is not wasted.

凡事皆有利弊，只要懂得权衡之道，往大处着眼，枯石朽木也能入药；凡人皆有长短，只要懂得用人之道，取彼之所长，破铜烂铁也能成钢。All things have advantages and disadvantages. If we know how to deal with them and focus on the right point, even rotten wood and stone can be used as medicine.Everyone has strength and weakness, if we can utilize them appropriately and fully, even the broken iron and copper can be refined into steel.

真正的富有，是欢喜而不是财富；真正的贫穷，是无知而不是无钱。Real wealth is happiness, not fortune.Real poverty is ignorance, not being penniless.

不以金钱来堆砌表相，智慧才能庄严一切；不以饰品来装扮外观，慈悲才能美化身心。Do not create your appearance with money; wisdom dignifies everything.Do not ornament yourself excessively; a compassionate mind beautifies the body and mind.

一个人心量有多大，事业就有多大；一个人心能容多少，成就就有多少。How forgiving you are defines the success of your business.How loving you are defines how many achievements you have made.

自省而后会自觉，自觉而后有自信，自信而后可自强，自强而后能自立。Self-discovery arises after self-awareness.Self-confidence arises after self-discovery.Self-empowerment arises after self-confidence.Self-independence arises after self-empowerment.

对财物要有惜福、惜情、惜缘的珍惜之心；对事务要有尽善、尽美、尽心的无愧之念。We have to cherish our property without carelessness.We have to do our best in all things without regrets.

我们能在生时多做善事，则临死何惧？我们能在平日贡献社会，则虽死犹生。If we can do more good deeds in our daily lives, then there is no fear left when near death.If we can contribute ourselves to society in our daily lives, then we live on even when we are dead.

人生最大的悲哀，是自己对前途没有希望；人生最坏的习惯，是自己对工作没有计划。To be hopeless about our own future is the most pathetic thing in life.To have no plan in our vocation is the worst habit in life.

因缘如条件，条件具备，才能成事；自性如明镜，明镜无尘，才能照明；心地如田地，田地肥沃，才能种植；布施如播种，播种善缘，才能收成。Investment means making profit out of capital. Investment can turn a small sum into more income, earning more and more money. So people will always envy those companies which expand into many related enterprises.

精进勤劳，是善德、是财富；懈怠放逸，是罪恶、是贫穷。Working earnestly and passionately is wealth and a kind act.Laziness and idleness is poverty and an unwholesome act.

满口的好话，满手的好事，满面的微笑，满心的欢喜。A mouthful of gentle words. A handful of good deeds.A smiling face. A heart full of happiness.

人生的价值，在于实现大我；人生的意义，在于服务大众。The value of life lies in realising the selfless self.The meaning of life lies in serving the public.

给人信心、给人欢喜、给人希望、给人方便；给，有无限的妙用。懂得包容、懂得和平、懂得谦让、懂得尊重；懂，有无限的妙解。Giving others confidence, giving others joy, giving others hope, giving others convenience:giving, is of infinite magical effect.Knowing all-encompassing, knowing peace, knowing modesty, knowing respect:knowing is of limitless intelligence.

世间的财富，要用信心的手去取；辽阔的江海，要靠信心的船来渡；正觉的佛果，要有信心的根生长；无尽的法宝，要从信心的门进入。To reap the fortune in this world, we need the hands of confidence.To cross the vast wide ocean, we need the boat of confidence.The fruit of enlightenment grows from the root of confidence.The door leading to the precious dharma world opens with confidence.

失败者，往往是热度只有五分钟的人；成功者，往往是坚持最后五分钟的人。A loser is one whose passion lasts only five minutes.The winner is one whose passion lasts through the final five minutes.

决心做、用心做，没有做不成的事；决心改、用心改，没有改不了的过。Nothing is impossible if we embrace it wholeheartedly with determination.No mistake is beyond fixing if we face it wholeheartedly with determination.

有失败的勇气，才有成功的希望；有辛勤的耕耘，才有丰实的收成。Hope of success is availed by the courage to face failure.Earnest work reaps a fruitful harvest.

冲得过逆境，才能学到本领；禁得起考验，才能担当大事。Overcoming adversity, one increases capacity.Standing the tests, one can take on great responsibility.

在委屈中学习经验，在困难中接受挑战，在失败中累积智慧，在挫折中锻炼意志。Gain experience out of grievance.Accept challenges presented by difficulties.Accumulate wisdom earned from failure.Strengthen willpower cultivated from obstacles.

每一时间都是黎明，每一挑战都是机会，每一逆境都是考验，每一善行都是创造。Every moment is dawn; every challenge is an opportunity.Every obstacle is a test; every kind act is an innovation.

生是前世的造作，要去改进；老是无常的定律，要去接受；病是必然的现象，要去承担；死是神识的流转，要去面对。Birth is the effect of our past lives; we need to elevate it.Old age is the principle of impermanence; we have to accept it.Sickness is the natural course of life; we have to bear with it.Death is the transformed process of senses; we have to face it.

人在顺境时往往会得意忘形，所以知本分是做人的根本；人在逆境中常常会灰心丧志，因此常精进是处世的基础。An easy life may lead to loss of self. Therefore, understanding responsibility is the foundation of character.Adversity is a test of faith. Therefore diligence is the foundation of industriousness in daily affairs.

逆境，是磨炼意志的大洪炉；困苦，是完成人格的增上缘；信心，是到达目标的原动力；理想，是建设人生的指南针。Adversity trains determination.Poverty accomplishes strength of character.Confidence motivates towards the goal.Ambition is the compass of life.

心空，则无烦恼的障碍；身定，则无环境的束缚。A mind free from attachment is not hindered by vexation.A durable body is not hindered by the environment.

人，要像皮球一样，打击越大，跳得越高；心，要像面团一样，揉搓越柔，韧性越强。As humans, we need to be like a ball, the harder we are hit, the higher we bounce.As humans, our mind need to be like dough, the more we are pressed, the tougher we become.

求新的第一步，不是排斥传统，而是了解传统；求变的第一步，不是表面背叛，而是内在蜕化。The first step of seeking innovation is not to reject tradition but to understand tradition.The first step of seeking change is not to rebel externally but to transform internally.

悲观者说人生是一杯苦酒，乐观者说人生是一杯香槟，和善者说人生是一杯清水，护世者说人生是一杯甘露。The pessimist sees life as a glass of bitter wine whereas the optimist sees it as a glass of champagne.Kind people see life as a glass of clear water while righteous people see it as a glass of nectar.

立身，要立万世不败之身；做人，要做千秋不朽之人。Set a role model for the world, and you will be a virtuous person for generations to come.

知识可以充实自己，懿行更可以庄严自己，说法可以度化他人，威德更可以摄受大众。May we enrich ourselves with knowledge, adorning ourselves with kind conduct.May we share the Dharma for the benefit of others and influence many by our virtuous conduct.

能够战胜别人，要靠自己的力量；能够战胜自己，要靠自己的智慧。Conquering others requires one’s strength.Conquering self requires one’s wisdom.

一个人的成就，在于日积月累；一个人的成功，在于坚毅不拔。Achievement is due to persistence.Success is due to an earnest will.

一束鲜花，不如一脸微笑；一杯清水，不如一念清明；一曲音乐，不如一句好话；一首诗歌，不如一声赞叹。A bouquet of flowers is incomparable to a smile.A glass of clean water is incomparable to a clear thought.A piece of music is incomparable to a kind word.A poem is incomparable to a word of praise.

在服务奉献中，成就他人；在努力工作中，实现自我。We give fulfillment to others by our service.We fulfill ourselves through earnest work.

为了完成自己，任何考验都得忍受；为了解决纷争，任何责任皆得担当。By enduring countless trials, we fulfill ourselves.By embracing responsibilities, we resolve conflicts.

成功的秘密，在于对目标的坚定有恒；成功的要诀，在于对因缘的了然于胸。The secret of success lies in the determination to attain the goal.The key to success lies in completely understanding the necessary conditions.

志因事立，事立则志成；佛由人成，人成即佛成。A goal is achieved when the job is accomplished.Buddhahood is attained when a human has perfected all virtues.

克服困难，便能获得良机；掌握机缘，便能获得成功。Overcome a problem, and an opportunity arises.Recognize a good opportunity, and success is ensured.

天下没有一劳永逸的事，努力不懈，才能拥有；天下没有一成不变的事，权巧变通，才能进步。Nothing on Earth is born of a onetime effort.Everything on Earth is impermanent,Continued effort and creativity lead to improvements.

一切好事，从我本身做起；一切坏事，从我本身改起。In doing all good deeds, I begin by myself.In rectifying all misdeeds, I begin by myself.

每日所说的言语，要是善良柔美的好话；每日所做的事情，要得利益大众的好事。Each day one needs to speak kind and gentle words.Each day one needs to do what is beneficial.

心中有人，为人着想，是做人的先决条件；心中有佛，视人如佛，是成佛的基本要素。Showing consideration for others is the condition for being a human.Seeing others as Buddha is the basic quality of becoming a Buddha.

能降伏贪嗔烦恼的人，才能得到法喜安乐；能体证无我空慧的人，才能达到涅槃解脱。One who can conquer greed and anger will obtain the peace and joy of the Dharma.One who can experience the wisdom of selflessness and emptiness will achieve the freedom of Nirvana.

不夸耀自己的长处，不批评别人的短处，不宣扬自己的贡献，不抹煞别人的成就。Do not boast of your abilities; do not criticize others’ shortcomings.Do not publicize your contributions; do not belittle others’ achievements.

日有升沉起落，故有晚霞余映；月有阴晴圆缺；故有皓月当空；人有悲欢离合，故有聚散情缘；世有苦空无常，故有真理示现。Sunrise and sunset give us rose-pink clouds.The changing month gives us a bright full moon.The sorrow of parting and joy of meeting let us cherish the time we are together.The suffering, emptiness and impermanence of the world manifest the truth.

多做善事，才能积善成德；多动善念，才能正念成事。Do more good deeds to accrue virtuous merits.Create more good thoughts in order to accomplish right thoughts.

以「智慧」降伏自内而起的烦恼，以「慈悲」化解自外而来的忧患。Learn to curb self-generated distress and problems with Wisdom.Learn to relieve external hardships with Compassion.

学问在于治心，心不治，纵学无益；思维在于悟理，理不悟，纵思无益。Learn to acquire knowledge of how to use our mind and spirit effectively, otherwise, there’s no benefit no matter how much knowledge we gain.Ponder to comprehend the truth, otherwise, there’s no benefit in continuous pondering.

用慧心观照五蕴皆空，用自心领导六根生活，用信心开发自我潜能，用慈心与人和谐相处。Observe the five skandhas carefully and realise their empty nature through wisdom.Decide for ourselves how the six roots of senses live through our life.Explore our own potential through confidence.Live harmoniously with every one through compassion

寺院如加油站，能添加人生所需的能源；寺院如学艺坊，能学会处世所需的方法；寺院如慧命家，能长养心灵所需的养分；寺院如移民局，能供给极乐净土的签证。A temple resembles a fuel station, providing energy for life.A temple resembles an art learning centre, teaching the way of conducting life.A temple resembles a house of life wisdom, fostering the nutrients for mind and soul.A temple resembles an immigration office, providing passports to the Pure Land.

功名富贵之前退让三分，何等安然自在；人我是非之前忍耐一些，何等悠闲自得。Give in a little when faced with status and wealth; feel how calm and carefree you can be.Endure a little when faced with discord; feel how leisurely and contented you can be.

忙人无妄想，闲人无快乐，好人无怨恨，坏人无情理，智人无烦恼，愚人无知见，邪人无正念，正人无邪心。Busy people have no false thoughts; idle people have no happiness,Good people have no grudges; bad people have no reasons.One with wisdom has no affliction; unskilled people have no knowledge.Evil people have no right thoughts; righteous people have no evil minds.

以牛粪心看事，一切都充满臭秽污浊；以菩萨心看人，一切是佛的庄严显现。Everything smells bad and is dirty if we see things with a soiled mind.Everything is the wonderful manifestation of the Buddha if we see with a Bodhisattva mind.

笃信因果者，必定是有道德的人；了解缘起者，必定是有智慧的人。A virtuous person believes in cause and effect;A wise person understands dependent origination.

因果不可昧：善有善报，恶有恶报；不是不报，时辰未到；真理不可欺：真真假假，假假真真，真假之后，必有平衡。Cause and effect cannot be hidden: a good deed will bring good retribution, a bad deed will bring bad retribution; it is only a matter of time.The truth cannot be deceived: there are realities and unrealities, and the two will ultimately balance out.

要用伦理净化所爱，要用道德领航所爱，要用善美成就所爱，要用祝福加持所爱。Use ethics to purify our beloved, use morals to lead our beloved.Use kindness to fulfil our beloved, use joyful wishes to inspire and support our beloved.

至诚的一念，上可体悟佛心，下可发扬人性，多么美好！邪恶的一念，小可败坏名声，大可覆亡家邦，岂可不慎！With a whole-hearted higher thought, one not only can comprehend the Buddha mind; one can also enhance humanity. How wonderful!An insignificant evil thought can undermine one’s reputation while the severity of the evil can destroy a country. How can we not be cautious!

信佛不是求神通，而是学习佛陀悲智双运的精神；信佛不是求福寿，而是体悟佛法因缘果报的真理。Believing in Buddha Dharma is not seeking supernatural power, but learning the Buddha’s practice of both compassion and wisdom.Believing in Buddha Dharma is not seeking prosperity and longevity, but comprehending the truth of the Dharma, cause, condition and retribution.

自己可以不聚外财，但不能不开发心田宝藏；自己可以无财无势，但不能不开创社会资源。One can live without seeking extra wealth, but one must explore the treasures of one’s mind.One can live without wealth and power, but one must develop social resources.

唯有慈悲，能化干戈为玉帛，消怨怼于无形；唯有慈悲，能结善缘转逆境，成事业度众生。Compassion can dissolve grudgescompletely and transform war into friendship.Compassion can bring success,liberate sentient beings, andtransform adversity into buildinggood affinities.

能知，才能有所悟；悟者，明心见性也。能行，才能有所证；证者，圆成菩提也。Understanding the Dharma leads to Enlightenment; the enlightened ones understand the mind and penetrate nature.Attainment is achieved only if we practise; those who have attained fulfil the Bodhi.

因为世事「无常」，所以文明才得以进步；因为生命「无常」，所以未来才抱有希望。“Impermanent” matters lead to the progress of civilization.“Impermanent” life leads the way to the future of hope.

只要心中有慈悲、有智慧，「妙有」就可升华为「真空」；只要心中有社会、有大众，「真空」就能发挥出「妙有」。If we have compassion and wisdom, “wondrous existence” can be transcended to “real emptiness.”If we show consideration to society and others, “real emptiness” will bring “wondrous existence.”

错误比不过道理，道理比不过法治；法治比不过权力，权力比不过因果。Principles transcend mistakes; the rule of the law transcends principles; power and authority transcend the rule of law; cause and effect transcend power and authority.

欲求正道，须先正心；欲入正道，须能放下；欲行正道，须运悲智；欲证正道，须悟无我。Transform our mind to seek the right path.Detach to enter the right path.Adopt compassion and wisdom to walk the right path.Understand non-self to attain the right path.

观晚霞悟其无常，因为夕阳近黄昏；观白云悟其卷舒，因为云出岫无心；观山岳悟其灵奇，因为远观山无色；观河海悟其浩瀚，因为海水碧连天。Look at the sunset clouds and realise their impermanence, because the setting sun is near dusk;Look at the white clouds and realise their rolling up and expanding, because clouds rise without intention;Look at the mountains and realise their grandeur, because mountains lookedoverwhelming from afar;Look at the oceans and realise theirgreatness, because the oceans seem linked to the sky.

用心在书本上，那是智慧的根本；用心在结缘上，那是处众的根本；用心在慈悲上，那是做人的根本；用心在无我上，那是成佛的根本。Reading is the foundation of wisdom.Forming affinity is the foundation for managing people.Cultivating compassion is the foundation for well-being.Practising non-self is the foundation of becoming the Buddha.

学佛，主要是学自己，所以要向自己本心寻问；学禅，主要是参自心，所以要向本来面目探究。Learning Buddha Dharma is to learn about ourselves and search within our mind.Learning meditation is to know about our mind and discover our purified, unimpeded Buddha nature

迷信宗教不怕，因为只是不懂；不信宗教可悲，因为一无所得；邪信宗教可畏，因为走入歧途；正信宗教可喜，因为前程光明。Superstition in religion is not terrible; it is just lack of knowing.Disbelief in religion is sad because one has nothing.Incorrect belief in religion is frightful because it may lead to the wrong path.Right belief in religion is joyful because it leads to a bright future.

皈依佛，点亮心灵灯光，为自己建设了电力公司；皈依法，储蓄甘露法水，为自己营建了自来水厂；皈依僧，长养菩提花果，为自己开发了良田土地。Refuge in the Buddha lights up your mind and sets up a power plant in you.Refuge in the Dharma saves the ambrosial water and sets up waterworks in you.Refuge in the sangha nurtures the flower and fruit of enlightenment and cultivates an orchard in you.

平时多做善事，为自己写下历史，为社会留下贡献，则临死何惧，虽死犹生；经常多行不义，于自己造下恶端，于社会无有益处，则常怀恐怖，生不如死。Do good deeds to leave a good name for ourselves.Contribute to society and we will have no regrets after death.Unjust acts can create slander for us.A person who is useless to society is filled with fear and is as good as not living.

在物质上能淡泊，则不为形役；在心性上能淡泊，则不为情困；When you are detached from possessions, from name and gain, from passions and troubled thoughts, you won’t be discouraged by what may come.

对上不欺天，对下不欺人，对内不欺心，对外不欺世。Do not cheat nature.Do not cheat people.Do not cheat the conscience.Do not cheat society.

缺乏自信自尊，人生就会瘫痪；不肯进德修慧，人格就会卑贱。Life will come to a standstill if there is lack of self-confidence and self-esteem.Integrity will become mean and low if we refuse to uphold virtue and practise wisdom.

有过，遭人批评，固然要欣然接受，真心地改过就好；无过，受人冤枉，也无须辩驳纠正，确实地自省即可。Accept criticism if you have made a mistake and sincerely correct it.Do not refute even if you are treated unjustly but look within yourself.

心中只有自己的人，不会快乐；眼中只有利益的人，终会失败。A person who only thinks of himself will not feel happy.A person who emphasises self-interest would fail in the end.

世故不宜太深，太深则生趣索然；感情不宜太浓，太浓则难能持久。Things lasting for some time would create a feeling of dullness and apathy.Feelings that are too strong may not last long.

禁得起灾难的考验，才能实现理想；耐得了失败的挫折，才能成功立业。Rising above failure, you will realize your objective.Withstanding disappointment, you will succeed.

心正，则本立；本立，则道生；道生，则心净；心净，则自然。Righteousness builds a good foundation.A good foundation leads to the Buddha path.The Buddha path purifies the mind.A purified mind manifests the unobstructed Buddha nature within us.

用智慧确定方向，方向必到；用意志克服困难，困难必解。Use wisdom to determine your direction, and you will arrive.Use determination to treat your problems, and they will be solved.

多闻、思维、修行，可以开发我们的智慧；去贪、断嗔、除痴，可以净化我们的心灵。By listening more, contemplating and practising, we develop wisdom.By removing greed, hatred and delusion, we develop a pure mind.

勿因忙于枝节小事而忘了坚持伟大的目标，勿因贪图眼前利益而忘了追寻永远的安乐。Do not forget to persevere towards a great goal while busily juggling with the trifles.Do not forget the search for eternal happiness and not get trapped in a momentary desire.

能够抛弃仇恨的刀剑，自能获得身心的自在；能够卸下执著的枷锁，自能享受清凉的禅悦。Relinquish the sword of hatred, free your body and mind.Sever the bond of obstinacy, enjoy the calmness of meditation.

以有念对治邪念，以正念对治妄念，以无念对治正念。Counteract wrong thoughts through positive beliefs.Contemplate defilements through right mindfulness.Excel in right mindfulness through eliminating all thoughts.

欲望愈少，心灵愈清明；成见愈少，生命愈宽广。Less desire makes you virtuous and wise.Less prejudice makes your life expansive.

远离颠倒妄想，才能观人自在；远离分别臆测，才能观境自在；远离执著缠缚，才能观事自在；远离五欲尘劳，才能观心自在。Avoid deranged thoughts, and then we can understand people easily.Avoid distrust, and then we can understand circumstances clearly.Avoid attachments, and then we can have a carefree life.Avoid desires, and then we can be in control of our mind.

做人处世要知理、知事、知人和知情；学佛修行要知佛、知法、知众和知慧。Understanding the situation and people are essential factors in day-to-day human interactions.Understanding the Buddha, Dharma, people and wisdom are essential factors for learning and practising Buddhism.

不必言而言，是谓多言，多言招怨；不当言而言，是谓妄言，妄言惹祸。Speaking the unnecessary is considered talkative and would arouse animosity.Speaking the improper is considered indiscreet and would invite trouble.

是非朝朝有，没有现在多；是非朝朝有，不听自然无。Every day people talk about rights and wrongs; this habit increases each day.Every day people talk about rights and wrongs; if we stopped listening there would be none.

大众重于自己，退让重于争取，感恩重于仇恨，道德重于才能。Pay more attention to others than yourself.Emphasise more on giving than on contesting for something.Emphasise more on gratitude than enmity.Pay more attention to good virtue than talent.

不怀恨，不怨尤，就会少烦少恼；不计较，不比较，必然多助多缘。If we forget about hatred and dissatisfaction, we would be free from frustration.By not being calculative and comparing among people, we would receive many friends and assistance.

放下万缘，全部接受；事事好奇，处处学习；眼光要远，脚步要近；忍耐办事，委屈做人。Accept each and every condition.Be curious and learn from every situation.Be astute and put experience into practice.Deal with matters with patience and readiness to compromise

少执多放心安泰，少傲多谦人缘好，少色多德名誉佳，少私多公成就大。Practise less attachment and one would feel calm and at peace.Practise humility and one would have more friends.Practise good virtue and one would have good honour.Practise public spirit and one would have great success.

人生之所以烦恼丛生，往往在于所知太多，无法消解，所以有时需要装聋作哑；人生之所以痛苦颠倒，常常在于我执太强，不能放下，所以有时应该难得糊涂。Indigestible information and knowing too much may cause distress in life. Sometimes it is good to just stay dumb and deaf.Egoism and greed lead to suffering in life. Sometimes it is good to play the fool.

注意倾听，不只增加见识，而且受人欢迎；用心办事，不只增加力量，而且容易成功。Patient listening expands your knowledge and makes you likeable.Doing things diligently not only increases your energy, it also make success easier.

保持现状，就是落伍；踌躇不前，就是退步。Never changing will lead us to being outdated.Always hesitating to move forward is regression.

改过才会进步，认错才能增上；助人才能结缘，内敛才能养德。Correcting faults leads to progress.Admitting faults leads to self-improvement.Helping others leads to good affinity.Restraint leads to cultivation of virtue.

做人，要受教、受气、受苦；修身，要改言、改性、改心；好事，要敢做、敢说、敢当；学习，要思想、思考、思虑。If we accept advice, endure wrong and hardship, we will improve ourselves.If we change the way we speak, change our bad attitudes, and change our thoughts, we will cultivate ourselves.In doing good deeds, we should be brave and responsible in our conduct and speech.May we think, reflect, and consider carefully while learning.

自己有过，高高兴兴地改过；别人有过，心平气和地劝告。Correct our own mistakes eagerly.Advise others about their mistakes calmly.

心，可成为光明庄严的道场，也可以是烽火漫漫的战场；心，可成为产品良好的工厂，也可以是劫贼土匪的温床。The conscious mind can either be a stately temple or a war zone engulfed in flames.The conscious mind can either be a manufacturer of excellence or a breeding ground for crimes and acts of violence.

治学不厌是智者，教育不倦是仁者，做事不苦是勤者，受苦不诉是能者。A wise person would not feel bored when pursuing a higher level of knowledge.A benevolent person would not feel tired when educating others.A diligent person would not feel suffering when doing beneficial things.A capable person would not complain when facing hardships.

忍耐是修行的力量，包容是做人的修养，柔和是处事的良方，感恩是惜福的资粮。Patience is the power for cultivation and practice.Acceptance is the self-cultivation for being human.Gentleness is the effective prescription for handling affairs.Gratitude is the way of appreciating goodness.

为人所不能为，是丈夫事业；忍人所不能忍，是圣贤修养。Bearing the unbearable task is the work of great beings.Tolerating the intolerable is thecultivation of sages.

宣导人和，关怀大众，善用机缘，顾全大局。Promote harmony, care for others, appreciate opportunities, and work for the benefit of all beings.

最好的礼物是忠言；最好的修养是宽恕。The best present is sincere advice from others.The best self-cultivation is to forgive others.

每一个人都能修口修心，就能正己正人；每一个人都喜敦亲睦邻，就能齐家治国。Cultivation of good thoughts and words makes you wholesome.Helping others is a wholesome act.Realization of the principle of dependent origination results in living in harmony with others.

多一个朋友，自然少一个敌人；多一分努力，自然少一分挫败。An additional friend means one enemy fewer.The effort of hard work means one defeat fewer.

居家要选好邻，旅行要选良伴，求知要选善书，励行要选益友。Choose good neighbours to live with.Choose good companions to travel with.Choose good books for seeking knowledge.Choose good friends for right practice.

以是非为重，利害为轻；以实践为重，空谈为轻；以道情为重，人情为轻；以真理为重，世俗为轻。Emphasize the rights and wrongs, understate the profit and loss;Emphasize putting words into practice, understate empty promises;Emphasize relationships that build on principles; understate relationships that build on human favour;Emphasize enlightening truth, understate secular acts.

天生眼耳皆成双，所以要多看多听；天生嘴巴只一张，所以要少言少语。We have two eyes and two ears so that we can see and listen more.But we only have one mouth so perhaps we should speak less.

幽默是睿智的禅心，它是自我解嘲，而非取笑别人；诙谐是智慧的言谈，它是自我调侃，而非讽刺别人。Sense of humour is wise and far-sighted;it can save embarrassment and is not meant to tease other people.Being comical is wisdom as it is humorous comments to tease ourselves and is not meant to be sarcastic to other people.

有容乃大，吃亏是福，学习吃亏，能结善缘；知过能改，善莫大焉，懂得忏悔，能进品德。Sublime personality comes with a broad mind;to be at a disadvantage is bliss.Learning to be at a disadvantage will help us to foster a good relationship.Acknowledging mistakes and makingrectification are great virtues.Repentance improves one’s moral character.

人生最高的美德是慈悲，慈悲欢喜可以美化生活；人生最大的财富是智慧，智慧灵巧可以规划生涯。Compassion is the most valuable virtue because it beautifies our life.Wisdom is enormous wealth because it leads us to a bright future.

人，有了表情，就像甘霖遍洒旱地，一切都会活过来；心，能够会意，如同春雷响彻天际，一切都会醒过来。An expressive person livens things up like rain drops on dry land.The strong and good human feeling between people is like thunder that wakens everything.

能恨烦恼不恨他人，是世界上第一聪明；能以他人欢喜为喜，是世界上最大快乐。The smartest people in the world are those who hate affliction instead of hating people.The happiest person in the world is the one who would feel happy for others.

酒以不劝为欢，棋以不争为胜，理以无妄为道，人以无求为高。A drinking session is joyful without forcing.A chess game is successful without competition.A fact should be told without wild talk.A human character grows without desires.

将人比人，真是气人；将心比心，大家更亲。Comparing with others is annoying.Feeling for others from one’s heart to another’s fosters warmth.

要人原谅你，你先要原谅人；要人了解你，你先要了解人。If you wish forgiveness from people, you must show forgiveness first.If you wish understanding from people, you must show understanding first.

宽恕能恢宏气度，包容能促进和谐，慈悲能助长道德，喜舍能增加人缘。Forgiveness is to expand our magnanimity.Acceptance is to improve harmony.Compassion is to promote morality.Giving is to grow our friendship.

包容异己的存在，包容伤残的尊严，包容冤仇的伤害，包容无心的错误。Accept the existence of differences among people.Accept the dignity of the disabled.Accept the harmfulness of the enemy.Accept the mistakes of the unintentional

用慈悲的心灵关怀众生，用慈悲的眼神看待万物，用慈悲的话语随喜赞叹，用慈悲的双手广做好事。Use compassion to care for sentient beings,Perceive the things in this world with the eyes of compassion.Let compassionate speech praise in times of rejoicing,Let compassionate hands perform expansive good deeds.

财富的拥有要靠大地的普载，群我的融和要靠人脉的缘分。The availability of wealth relies upon the right use of Mother Earth.Harmony among people depends on the affinity of the destiny that connects them.

人与人之间的不和谐，可以用慈悲去化除；人与物之间的不协调，可以用智慧去解决。Compassion can dissolve disharmony among people.Wisdom can overcome discord among people and things.

要将美丽的善心散布人间，要将芬芳的爱心传播社会，要将清净的真心供养十方，要将彩色的好心与人结缘。Let the beauty of benevolence spread in this world.Let the fragrance of caring extend to the society.Let the pureness of sincerity be offered to the universe.Let colourful kindness touch every one.

福德因缘如银行的存款，除了应用外，更要培植福德因缘；福德因缘如稻田的种子，除了收成外，更要培植福德因缘。Blessedness is like money in the bank; other than spending it, we must earn more.Blessedness is like a seed in the paddy field; as we harvest it, we must cultivate more.

锦上添花，得到的是短暂的欢喜；雪中送炭，得到的是永久的感激。Adding something extra to an alreadygood situation is just icing on the cake which can only bring short-termhappiness.Providing help when in dire need would bring lasting appreciation

口里常说「请」、「谢谢」、「对不起」，能使人生祥和如意；心里常念「好」、「惭愧」、「结善缘」，能使人格达于善美。Always saying “please”, “thank you”, and “I am sorry” will harmonise our life;Always contemplating on “goodness”, and “repentance”, “engaging goodaffinity” will beautify our personality.

以慈眼、慧眼、法眼、佛眼，洞察世间实相；用善听、谛听、兼听、全听，关怀人间疾苦。Use the Compassionate Eye, the Wisdom Eye, the Dharma Eye and Buddha’ s Eye to see the Truth of the universe .Use virtuous hearing, attentive hearing, impartial hearing and thorough hearing to listen to the suffering of the world.

用语言赞美别人是口中放光，用眼神关怀民瘼是眼中放光，用耳朵聆听苦难是耳中放光，用悲心体谅众生是心中放光。Using speech to praise others is emitting light from the mouth.Giving caring eyesight to society is emitting light from the eyes.Listening to the suffering is emitting light from the ears.Using compassion to empathize sentient beings is emitting light from the heart.

繁华热闹的生活，过后则感凄凉；清淡朴素的做人，历久犹有余味。After an extravagant and exciting life, you feel desolate and miserable.After a simple and mild life, you have a long and lasting pleasant impression.

物质的苦乐没有标准，心中的自在才有价值；成功的定义因人而异，道德的圆成才是重要。Material pleasure has no yardstick.Only the carefree mind has value.The definition of success varies with individuals.Only the wholesome perfection of virtue is significant.

优秀的演技，来自演员认真领会角色的内涵；丰富的生活，必须自己努力体证生命的意义。Excellent acting skills come from actors who earnestly understand the inner quality of the role.To live a rich life requires us to diligently experience the true meaning of life.

从事卑微的行业也好，居住偏僻的陋巷也罢，只要有贡献自己的心愿，就能活得顶天立地。Whether you have a humble profession or dwell in a mean remote alley,As long as you pursue your vows, you will live with uprightness and an indomitable spirit.

培养兴趣，而不养成癖好；学习正直，而不学成古板。One should foster an interest but not turn it into an addiction.One should learn to be honest and upright but not become stubborn and inflexible.

退后，是为了跳得更远；压缩，是为了弹得更高；休息，是为了走得更长；韬光，是为了学得更博。Stepping back is to jump farther.Crouching back is to spring higher.Taking a rest is to continue the journey further.Having a retreat is to cultivate in depth.

动，是发挥自己天赋的佛性，是开源；静，是珍爱自己内在的含蕴，是节流。能动能静，才能拥有中道的生活。Movement is to express our innate Buddha nature to open sources.Tranquillity is treasuring our internal content to decrease outflow.Being able to move and able to be tranquil, only then can one have the life of the Middle Way.

守时是社交的一种礼貌，尽责是工作的一种义务，公平是领导的一种原则，轻声是人类的一种文明。To be punctual is a social courtesy.To be responsible is a professional obligation.To be fair is a leadership principle.To speak softly is a form of human culture.

善用琐碎的时间，是进步的良方；珍惜点滴的因缘，是处世的妙药。The effective use of trivial time is a good prescription for progress.Treasuring drops of cause and condition is an excellent medicine for conducting oneself in society.

时间即是生命，争取时间，就是抢救生命。寿命就是时间，浪费时间，就是糟蹋生命。Time is life, fighting for time is to save life.Wasting time is to squander life.

懂得利用时间的人，便是懂得永恒的智者；懂得利用空间的人，便是懂得无边的圣者。One who knows how to use time is a sage who knows the eternal truth.One who knows how to use space is a saint who knows limitless boundaries.

从谦虚中体验乐趣，从忍辱中培养美德，从自制中克服物欲，从宁静中安顿身心。In humility we experience joy.In enduring humiliation we nurture beautiful virtues.In self-restraint we overcome material desire.In tranquillity we settle our body and mind.

心中满足到处好，人情冷暖任随他，乐观进取直逍遥，威武权势不必怕，行住坐卧要威仪，衣食住行莫浮华，做人处事八正道，慈悲喜舍称无量。With contentment in the heart, everywhere is paradise; other human feelings, warm or cold, become unimportant.With optimism, forge ahead towardsfreedom, do not fear might or force.Behaviour and deportment should bedignified; life should not be extravagant.Conduct and management follow the noble eight-fold path; loving kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity areimmeasurable.

真正会听的人，要听无声的声音；真正会吃的人，要吃无味的饮食。真正会看的人，要看无心的宇宙；One who really appreciates sound, wants to listen to noiseless sound.One who really appreciates food, wants to eat tasteless food.One who really appreciates sight, wants to see an empty universe.One who is skilful in thinking, wants to think of the limitless boundary of the Dharma World.

生活要佛法化，信仰要理智化，处事要平和化，修持要日常化。Life should follow the practice of theBuddha Dharma.Belief should be rational.The handling of tasks should be harmonious.Cultivation should be in our daily life.

乐智者，经营利益，更经营文化；求仁者，经营自我，更经营道义；好礼者，经营财富，更经营善友；慕道者，经营快乐，更经营法喜。Those who value wisdom are engaged more in cultural values than in monetary benefits.Those who pursue benevolence areengaged more in ethics and righteousness than in their own interests.Those who appreciate courteousness gain more kind-hearted friends thanmaterial wealth.Those who seek the Way gain more Dharma joy than worldly pleasure.

笑容，是世间上最美的色彩；赞美，是世间上最好的声音。A smile is the most beautiful colour in the world.Praise is the most beautiful sound in the world.

心中有人，是立德、立言、立功之本；心中有佛，是修真、修善、修美之道。Having people in mind is the basis to achieve virtue, compose worthy writings, and establish merit.Having the Buddha in mind is the way to cultivate truth, kindness, and beauty.

为人要有品德，做事要有品质，立业要有品格，生活要有品味。May we conduct ourselves with moral righteousness and complete our tasks with quality.May we conduct our business with professional ethics and live our life with refined taste.

真理从清醒而来，善良从体谅而来；气质从智慧而来，美丽从慈悲而来。Truth comes from awakening the mind.Kindness comes from consideration.Good temperament comes from wisdom.Beauty comes from compassion.

能以和蔼之容见人者，必得人和；能以谦冲之气处人者，必得人尊；能以恭敬之心待人者，必得人敬；能以赞美之言和人者，必得人缘。Seeing others with an amiable face, you will have harmony.Getting along with others with humility, you will be held in high esteem.Treating others with a respectful heart, you will be respected.Interacting with others using praise, you will have affinity with others.

宇宙合乎自然，就有生命；万物合乎自然，就能成长；世事合乎自然，就可形成；人心合乎自然，就是善美。The universe conforming to nature sprouts life.All beings conforming to nature will grow.An actions conforming to nature will be successfully completed.A mind conforming to nature is benevolent and beautiful.

心善，则触目所及皆真善美；心恶，则言行举止皆贪嗔痴。A good heart sees truth, goodness, and beauty in everything.An evil heart displays greed, hatred, and ignorance in everything.
